FAQ and Troubleshooting

Who can use Easel? Authorized IIIT Nagpur users, signing in with their institute Google account.

Do I need a separate Easel password? No. Easel uses Google authentication with your @iiitn.ac.in account.

Why can’t I see a course? Course visibility follows your academic access. If you should be in a course and it is missing, contact the faculty member for that course or an administrator.

Why can’t I see another student’s course material? Course content is scoped so you see only what you are permitted to access.

Can I use Easel on my phone? Yes. Easel works in a mobile browser and the layout adapts to small screens. For quicker access, add a shortcut to your home screen.

Is the Ask assistant always right? No. Answers can be incorrect or incomplete, and the documents behind them may not be the newest available. Check the cited source, or confirm with the relevant faculty member or official source, before acting on anything important. Do not treat an Ask answer as an official academic decision.

A page is not loading. Refresh the page, check your internet connection, try another browser, and retry. If it keeps happening, report it through the feedback option in the top navigation’s More menu.

My attendance looks wrong. Contact the faculty member for that course and give them the class date or session details.

When you report a technical problem, include enough for someone to reproduce it:

  • Your name and role
  • A clear description of the problem
  • The steps that led to it
  • The course or page it happened on
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if you can
  • Your browser and device
  • Roughly when it happened

For incorrect course information, missing material, assignment questions, timetable issues, or attendance discrepancies, contact the relevant faculty member or academic authority rather than filing a technical report.

To suggest an improvement or request a feature, use the feedback option in the More menu. Where you can, describe the problem you are trying to solve rather than only asking for a specific change.
